Forty years ago, in the last days of June 1362, the Islamic Republic hanged six Baha'i men and 10 women in Shiraz. Some of the women who were executed in the last hours of June 18th had heard the news of the execution of their husband, father, or son two days before. This event marked the largest mass execution of Baha'is in the history of the Islamic Republic and left a black mark on the human rights record of this government. The television documentary "Before the Dawn" looked at the narrative of the execution of these ten Baha'i women in Shiraz, using rarely seen images and exclusive interviews.
