Along with the Matterhorn, chocolate and watches, the breed of "Saint Bernard" dogs is undoubtedly one of the strongest symbols of Switzerland and beyond the Alps. These dogs are part of the historical heritage of one of the most legendary places in Valais: the Col du Grand Saint Bernard, a passage that is several thousand years old between Southern and Northern Europe, located at an altitude of over 2500m. The canons guard this exceptional place in winter and summer in the Hospice to welcome pilgrims and travelers and their long history has long been linked to that of these dogs. Laurent Guillaume takes you to discover these kings of the mountain pastures that are the Saint Bernards, from their first weeks to adulthood, in the heart of the impressive landscapes of one of the most famous passes in the Alps.
