Bárbara Carine Soares Pinheiro is a teacher and businesswoman from Bahia, graduated in Chemistry and Philosophy from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), with a master's and doctorate in Chemistry Teaching from UFBA/UEFS and a post-doctorate in the Chair of Basic Education at the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of São Paulo (IEA/USP). Adjunct professor at the Chemistry Institute at UFBA, she is the creator of the Maria Felipa School, the first Afro-Brazilian school in the country. Among his best-known books are 'Dear Black Student', 'Educating Anti-Racist Children' and the best-seller 'How to Be an Anti-Racist Educator', winner of the 2024 Jabuti Award in the Education category.
