The Yatay, a steam engine rescued and rebuilt by a group of railway lovers (the Ferroclub Argentino) and staff from the Urquiza railway, begins a journey between the past and the present. The camera accompanies the journey of this 102-year-old English-built locomotive from Buenos Aires to the old Puerto Ibicuy station in Entre Ríos. The images of the journey also capture the work process for the re-assembly of the locomotive: the search for original spare parts and the importance of the staff to get the train running: from the driver to the kitchen staff, the workshop and the transport of firewood for combustion. The report also tells the story of the Ferroclub Argentino, founded in 1872. On the journey station by station, the testimonies of the protagonists and members of the railway community reconstruct with emotion the work process carried out for this locomotive, the oldest one operating in Latin America, and unanimously highlight the importance of this means of transport for the country.
