Hilgermissen near the Weser. While many country inns in the north are closing, Nicole Löwen is making a fresh start with the Zum Goldenen Krug inn. She has taken over the old inn with a banquet hall, guest rooms and pub in the county of Hoya in Lower Saxony and wants to save it with new ideas. The trained hotel manager is fulfilling a lifelong dream with her own village inn. She believes that such inns create cohesion and bring people in the region together. In the first few months, the 38-year-old has already gained regular guests. But to ensure that the country inn is viable in the long term, she wants to attract bicycle tourists from the Weser cycle path to her inn and restaurant. This should work in May and June! The mother of three children does almost everything herself: she bakes and cooks, arranges plates, makes the beds in the inn and looks after her guests. During asparagus season, the inn is full: more than 100 party guests want their fill of asparagus and lots of cake. Then even husband Andy jumps in at the pub and hosts the regulars' table. ______________________________________ The farm stories on ndr.de https://www.ndr.de/fernsehen/sendunge...
