Instagram: / mountourguide Facebook: / mountour-guide Character: The Spitzstein is one of the most popular destinations and one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the western Chiemgau Alps. Its easy accessibility, the unobstructed and far-reaching view and two places to stop for refreshments ensure that you rarely find true mountain solitude there. The Spitzstein receives visitors from the Priental from Sachrang and Innerwald as well as from Erlerberg. The climbs from Erlerberg are shorter and therefore a little more popular than the slightly longer approach from Sachrang. Below we describe the ascent variant from Sachrang, which takes us via small paths and the hamlet of Mitterleiten up to the Steinmoosalm. Just above the Steinmoosalm we come to the ascent path that leads up from Erlerberg. Via the Spitzsteinhaus and the Altkaseralm we reach the Spitzstein summit with its small chapel via paths that are partly rugged towards the end. There we enjoy the fantastic view that stretches to the Reiter Alm mountains, the Loferer Steinberge, the Kaiser Mountains, the Hohe Tauern, the Zillertal Alps and the Karwendel.
