"Citadel" is a medical story. It is the story of a young doctor (Andrew Manson) who, after his examinations, arrives in a small mining town, where he finds the differences between unproblematic theory and practice. At the same time, he finds his soul mate (Christine) here. Driven by the principle of being as useful as possible and doing everything as well as possible, he often had to not apply outdated methods and therapies that seemed useless to him, but not everyone appreciated the innovation. He passes an exam and gets a job in London. And with this his decay begins, he hopes to work interesting cases, but to his surprise he finds a corrupt medical system in which the first place is not the patient but the money. Over time, Andrew abandons his axiological principles, becoming a famous and wealthy doctor, but losing his soul relationship with Christine. Trying to repair this relationship, he begins to return to his original moral values, but everything comes at a price..
