The anti-aircraft missile division of the S-300 air defense system of the Zahid air command destroyed 55 enemy cruise missiles and UAVs. The unit is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Vitaly Dugar. Our division of the Lviv Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment named after Ivan Vyhovsky was formed on September 30, 2021, almost on the eve of a full-scale invasion. The S-300 medium-range anti-aircraft missile system is in service, the commander says. - As of now, we have already changed more than 10 combat positions in the Volyn, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, and Lviv regions. On the combat account of the unit, 55 enemy targets were destroyed - 46 missiles of the Kh-555, Kh-101, "calibre" type and 9 reconnaissance and attack drones. The division record is 5 destroyed targets in one anti-aircraft battle. It's hard work, here everything depends on the people, - Vitaly says. - Every battle for us is the main, main, important as the last one. We work to the maximum. In the breaks, we restore weapons and equipment, prepare it, train people. It happened that we would launch ten rockets in five minutes. And then at night we charge the complexes until the morning. From the first day of the war, as in the National Guard of Ukraine, where there is a Patron dog, we also have our own symbols for the emotional relief of personnel, - says Vitaly Dugar. - They also support our service and "fight" with us. During each combat operation, they follow us to the command post. We had a cat, Rocket, and a jack-russell-terrier, Jackie. They are used to the use of weapons, to loud sounds. Real fighters. Probably, each of us thinks about the family, about relatives. And these animals remind many people of their pets, help us create a family atmosphere when we are far from our homes. The mood is always combative, we have nowhere to retreat, this is our land, we just need to go forward, develop, attract more new people to the ranks of the division, - emphasizes the commander. - The doors of the unit are open. Those who are willing and motivated can come and study. We are getting new Western anti-aircraft missile systems. And we need operators. Therefore, we invite to us those who wish to undergo training abroad, speak at least a little English, are ready to successfully study, and then return to Ukraine and protect, defend their state, the airspace of their country, get positive emotions from combat work and its results .
