Tuberculosis is a disease caused by tuberculosis bacteria that mainly causes inflammation in the lungs. A cluster infection was confirmed at a nursing home in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, and of the 34 infected people, four developed symptoms. It is often thought of as an old disease, but in fact, more than 10,000 people in Japan are still infected with it every year. What symptoms do you get when you develop the disease? What is the difference between people who develop symptoms and those who do not even if they are infected? What kind of infectious disease is tuberculosis in the first place?
