Alain was born in Geneva on June 23, 1949. At the age of 9, following the loss of his father, Jean, a popular butcher in the Saint-Gervais district of Geneva, Alain quickly learned to play the piano under the encouragement of his mother, Marguerite, becoming a student at the Geneva Conservatory and the Popular Conservatory (class of Madame Marine Vigny). He completed his “other” studies at the Florimont Institute (1958-1968), then at the Faculty of Law at the University of Geneva. To participate in the Eurovision Song Contest, in 1977, he officially created the group Sweet People, which already included two of his faithful accomplices: Mady Rudaz and Jean-Jacques Egli. Their song “Hey le musicien” came second in the Swiss final, but the three songs presented that year by Alain won… the first three places in the same final. Thanks to this performance, Morisod found himself on the front page of “Blick”. In February 1978, with "Le Lac de Côme", he became number one in Canada and obtained his first platinum disc there. He married Mady Rudaz on July 6, 2001, in all simplicity and in all intimacy (eight guests in all), after thirty-one years of engagement.
