Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was the fourth Shah of Iran to die in exile in the last hundred years. Mozaffar al-Din Shah Qajar was the last Iranian king to die in his homeland. He died in Tehran less than five months after the constitutional decree was issued. After him, all the kings of Iran; Mohammad Ali Shah Qajar, Ahmad Shah Qajar, Reza Shah Pahlavi and Mohammad Reza Shah died in exile. Mohammad Ali Shah in Italy, Ahmad Shah in France, Reza Shah in South Africa and Mohammad Reza Shah in Egypt.
