BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE Nikos Tomaras was born on January 5, 1953 in the village of Krapsi in Ioannina. His parents were cattle breeders, but he himself from a very early age felt deep within him the flame of traditional folk music. The flame became a fire and so at the age of only 14 he began with the power of impetuous youth to engage in folk singing, playing the lute at the same time. His passion was rewarded with his innate talent and later he included the clarinet in his daily activities. At weddings and festivals, he began to perform alongside well-known figures of the genre, such as: Theodoros Haliasos, Giorgos Gerodimos, K. Haliasos, Theofilos Papadimitriou and other artists Nikos Tomaras is rightly counted among the most genuine Traditional performers, with the table-thieving songs as a point of reference. His collections of time-honored songs from old people are large, while to them were added his own songs, those written from his own soul, about his love for nature. The following stand out: "You are my beautiful mountains", "to Arachthos in the river" etc.
