This investment will connect the Łódź Fabryczna station with the Łódź Kaliska station and Łódź Żabieniec. /The investor is PKP PLK with the support and co-financing by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Program, and the general contractor is the company from Mińsk Mazowiecki PBDiM. The investment aims to connect the Łódź Fabryczna station with the Łódź Kaliska station and the Łódź Żabieniec railway station using a tunnel bored underground by the TBM. The official name of the investment is: "Unblocking the Łódź Railway Junction (TEN-T), Stage II, Section Łódź Fabryczna - Łódź Kaliska/Łódź Żabieniec". This is an exceptionally complicated operation, as a large part of the tunnel runs under the city center and the old tenement houses located on the surface.
