Who is Oriya? “This brightness and warmth that we feel from the Sun come from its crown, which Pawa gave.” - Moisés Piyãko In the seventh episode of the Sol cycle, Moisés Piyãko talks about the Sun from the perspective of the Ashaninka people, narrating its origin story and its relationship with the symbols and culture of his people. The episode also features the participation of his son, Thõkiriyari Piyãko, with music and songs from the Ashaninka people. The SOL cycle consists of 17 narratives published every Wednesday on our YouTube channel, in the Hatxã Kuï, Tukano, Nheengatu, Maxakali, Guarani or Portuguese languages. Presenting different views on the Sun, the cycle interweaves indigenous memories and knowledge with perspectives from astronomy, philosophy, astrology, literature and other areas of knowledge. On Thursdays, we also publish a notebook related to each episode on our website: www.selvagemciclo.com.br/cadernos Follow our networks and our channel to find out about the cycle's releases!
