It was an insane 48 hours eating typical food from the state of Pernambuco, regional food for breakfast until bedtime! #Petrolina #Streetfood #Pernambuco It was a blast eating country food from the Agreste region of Pernambuco, and it is certainly one of the cities we enjoyed the most due to the hospitality of the people and its rich gastronomy! On this day of experiencing country food, we started in what is famous for being the Petropolitano beach, the Pedrinhas resort, a gastronomic hub on the banks of the São Francisco River where there are countless cool restaurants that offer seafood typical of the region. We tried one of the local fish from the region, the Pacu, cooked on the grill accompanied by vinaigrette, rice, pirão and salad! It came stuffed with farofa and sauce, I confess that we didn't really like it stuffed, it dried out the fish a bit but it was delicious. From there, we went to the best restaurant in Petrolina, Flor de Mandacaru, run by Chef Jucilene! We tried the tasting menu and the Cari moqueca, whatever you order from the menu will be delicious! Highlights include the sun-dried meat paçoca with brown sugar and the cari moqueca, known as freshwater lobster! What a fantastic experience and it was really cool to get to know a little about Chef Jucilene's work. One of the most anticipated moments of this experience in Petrolina was getting to know the Bodódromo, a kind of Sambódromo do Bode, but unfortunately most establishments offer goat instead of goat. We tried a delicious goat shoulder and goat skewers at Restaurante Bera D'Água! The food was delicious and the accommodations were also delicious, with special mention for the goat pirão and the cassava cream. Taking a break from eating, we went to visit and learn a little about the work of the local artisans responsible for making countless cool, super original and creative handicrafts and, of course, their gigantic carrancas. The Master Quincas Craftsman Workshop is a must-see for those who appreciate local art and a great opportunity to buy a souvenir for home or a gift for family and friends. The street food scene in Petrolina is not very strong, but there is a street establishment that is definitely worth checking out, which is Bode Assado do Papas, owned by the incredible Ronaldo, who grills goat skewers on the grill, an endless delight. You can also order side dishes separately and put together a complete meal! And finally, we had the opportunity to try a typical country breakfast with regional foods from the Sertão Pernambuco, all-you-can-eat food with that homemade seasoning at Cafe da Fazenda. What a fantastic place!
