※ This video is part of the August 8, 2023 broadcast of <Hometown Republic - A Comma in My Life, Yangpyeong Part 2 Yangpyeong, People of a Mountain Village with Clean Water>. Yangpyeong, a rich land where mountains and rivers come together, is home to a precious fish. It is a native loach raised using clean stream water. 7 years ago, while traveling around the country to find a good environment for raising loach, Mr. Cho Gyu-man fell in love with the nature of Yangpyeong and settled here. His motto is to raise loach in an environment that is as similar to nature as possible. Although there were difficult times due to many trials and errors, he did not give up and continued to research and study, and as a result, he was able to increase the survival rate of loach fry from 20% to 50%. Mr. Gyu-man was the first in the country to receive HACCP certification for loach. Yangpyeong's good water and environment were a great help in seeing these results. Now, Mr. Gyu-man says that Yangpyeong feels more like home than his hometown.
