On Friday 20 June 1969, Bram Vermeulen and Freek de Jonge played their very first full-length performance on a large stage in Stadsschouwburg Haarlem with their program Neerlands Hoop In Bange Dagen. On Thursday 20 June 2019, that was exactly 50 years ago and Freek de Jonge celebrated his 50th anniversary as a stage artist. That was the reason for me to invite this great artist, who has left an important artistic mark on Dutch cabaret, for a unique tribute. Freek de Jonge was given carte blanche in Haarlem for a week in 'De Week van Freek'. Freek accepted that offer with both hands. It was an intensive, varied and cheerful week.
