Victory Monument was built in 1942 during the time of Field Marshal P. Phibunsongkhram to commemorate the soldiers and civilians who died in the Indochina conflict, and to be a new landmark according to the urban development plan of the People's Party and Field Marshal P. Phibunsongkhram. However, as time passed, Victory Monument has changed its meaning. It has become a commercial district, a center of transportation, restaurants, especially "boat noodles" that has become the identity of the Victory Monument area.
