From the rice fields to the east of Phra Nakhon called Thung Bang Kapi, Sukhumvit Road started from cutting from Rama I Road to Witthayu Road, becoming Phloen Chit Road. During the reign of King Rama VI, more roads were cut, becoming Bangkok - Samut Prakan Road, but continued all the way to the east before its opening ceremony in 1960. This created the Sukhumvit area in Bangkok, which is a densely populated area, urban and has one of the highest land prices in Bangkok today. The Sukhumvit area has gone through development and memories in different periods. From the reign of King Rama VI to the era after World War II, to the Vietnam War and the era when Bangkok began to have the electric train.
