This technique is used by Vie sans Frontière, a small humanitarian association that finances and supervises the construction of wells in isolated villages located in Senegal. There, there is no water, there is no electricity. Daily meals consist only of millet, peanuts, onions. If each village has its own history and its own joys, suffering remains common to these thousands of people. The population of the villages varies from 350 to 2000 inhabitants, living on arid and isolated lands, in huts made of straw and earth. Far from our lives. Daily, the problem remains the same for each of them: drinking and eating. The lack of access to drinking water is the main concern of the villagers. The construction of a well in a village is essential. This well will provide a daily supply of drinking water to several hundred people and will save women and children the heavy task of walking several kilometers in search of the precious liquid. Of course, this water will help improve hygiene and avoid the many diseases, often fatal, linked to the use of generally dirty water. Building a well in Africa in one of these villages will save lives.
