Ukrainian forces have launched a new wave of precision strikes targeting key Russian assets, demonstrating their ability to disrupt not only the military chain of command, but also logistics networks and challenge Russia's strategic capabilities. This series of coordinated attacks used a combination of *HIMARS, *Storm *Shadow missiles and innovative drone technology to devastating effect. First, the Ukrainians decided to hit command posts and troop locations, and they did so in a particularly effective manner. In the Oryol region, they used *Storm *Shadow missiles to destroy a military facility and kill several Russian soldiers and officers. Ukrainian forces then attacked the main Russian supply point for the counter-offensive at Kursk, located at Lgov, destroying a location known to contain Russian troops. Lgov was also the target of a *HIMARS precision strike, demonstrating the level of Ukrainian surveillance and infiltration that allowed them to strike the local train station mere moments after fresh Russian reinforcements arrived. Ukrainian operators also attacked command centers in Zaporozhye, decimating the Russian command with another *HIMARS strike. In one operation, three high-ranking enemy officers were eliminated, along with the destruction of their vehicles and subsequent disruption of evacuation efforts, eliminating any chance of Russian survival. These actions against command posts and troop concentrations are intended to undermine Russian coordination and impede their operational momentum. Second, Ukraine maintains relentless pressure on Russian logistics, targeting key rail networks in an effort to disrupt supply chains critical to Russian military operations. The initial explosions in the Voronezh region halted rail traffic due to extensive track damage, setting the tone for further sabotage. In the Moscow region, additional explosions caused further damage to the rail network, significantly impeding freight traffic. In particular, freight cars intended for military transport were destroyed in Voskresensk, while unidentified saboteurs set fire to electric trains on the outskirts of Moscow, rendering them unusable. By systematically crippling Russia's rail infrastructure, which is a vital backbone of the Russian logistics network, Ukraine has not only delayed the flow of supplies but also increased the logistical burden of Russian military campaigns. Third, fuel and oil depots remain a major target for Ukrainian attacks. Beginning with the explosion at a gas station in Grozny, which caused a local fuel shortage, Ukrainian forces have also successfully destroyed a major oil depot in Smolensk using drones, causing a fire that consumed large quantities of lubricants and fuel. Such an attack directly affects Russia’s mechanized operations, slowing their ability to conduct offensives and maintain supply chains, and forcing them to use infantry without armored support, which causes even greater losses. Finally, there is a breakthrough, the first steps of which we described in a previous report. Now we have the first confirmed destruction of two Russian Mi-8 helicopters by Ukrainian Magura 5 naval drones equipped with missile weapons. The Main Directorate of Military Intelligence of Ukraine has released footage from one of the drones showing them evading fire from Russian helicopters before successfully intercepting them. The video shows the confirmed destruction of one helicopter and damage to another, which was initially believed to be capable of returning to base. In a shocking twist, a prominent Russian military analyst later confirmed that a second Mi-8 was also destroyed, expressing condolences to the relatives of the crews of both helicopters. This clash near Crimea marked a turning point in the dynamics of the war in the Black Sea. Russian helicopters, once dominant in countering naval drones, are now easily eliminated. The downing of these aircraft opens the way for Ukrainian naval drones to operate with greater freedom, potentially further changing the naval battle. Ukraine’s multi-pronged approach deep behind the front lines, targeting command centers, logistics, fuel supplies, and even finding solutions to air threats at sea, has dealt Russia’s war effort a serious blow. By systematically striking critical elements of Russia’s military infrastructure, Ukraine is forcing Moscow to redirect resources, rethink strategy, and operate under increasing logistical strain.
