Former bank employees Petra and Matthias always dreamed of having their own restaurant. But it wasn't just any restaurant - the "Zum Nachtwächter" in Obertshausen, Hesse, was the only option. When the restaurant became available a year ago, the couple didn't think twice and jumped at the chance. Just twelve days after taking over, Petra and self-taught chef Matthias celebrated the reopening. But after the initial rush, the dining room is now completely empty. Money is now missing from all corners. The career changers can no longer afford permanent employees. They can no longer pay themselves a salary either. That's why Petra and Matthias have to work full-time in a catering company during the day. In the evenings, they go to the "Nachtwächter". The only trained worker in the house, chef Jürgen, is only available three days a week. He also has another permanent job. Petra and Matthias are at their wits' end under the double burden.
