South Sudan, which became the youngest country in the world by separating from Sudan in 2011 when it declared independence, was the 161st country I had seen in the world. Although we had visited Sudan many times on our previous trips from Egypt to South Africa on our East African routes, we had not had the opportunity to see South Sudan since it gained its independence. On this short trip where we explored the capital city of Juba, which was established on the banks of the Nile River, we had the opportunity to experience the street life of the country, its known and unknowns.
