I paid a visit to Erzurum, one of the largest provinces of Turkey with its vast land area and a city of special importance with its potential and historical and cultural heritage. I had a special interview with Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen. We met with Mayor Sekmen in Palandöken. Mehmet Sekmen announced the good news that they were establishing a new winter sports center with similar features at a point close to Palandöken. He stated that this new center would be one of the few winter sports centers in Europe with its luxurious vehicles and extensive infrastructure opportunities. I had the opportunity to chat with Mehmet Sekmen in detail about a number of topics from agriculture to animal husbandry and employment-creating activities for young people. Mehmet Sekmen said that they were making investments that would activate the great potential in agriculture and that they had also recently made the animal exchange even more ambitious. The Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor called on Erzurum's leading business people who currently live in other cities to make tourism investments in their hometowns. He added that they aim to create a billion-dollar economic potential by introducing endemic plants to the pharmaceutical industry.
