My wrecked Yamaha R1 has a wrecked motorcycle registration, which means that even if the bike looks good and runs perfectly, its resale value is lower than another Yamaha R1 4C8 that has a normal registration I have an inspection scheduled so that the New York prefecture will give me a rebuilt motorcycle registration, it's not really a clean registration but it will increase the value and insurance companies will also be more inclined to insure the machine Today is the final stretch before the inspection, I can't wait to have this project finished after all the bad surprises I've had on it... So I change my screen, I put on mirrors (the models you can find on eBay, Amazon and AliExpress) and I mount LED indicators that I need to connect to the wiring harness And because the flasher unit was the original one (Denso), I mount one adapted to the LED indicators I also change the seat cover which was all scratched up following the accident by a whole new from Luimoto, first time doing upholstery work and I'm not doing too bad This project was definitely a refresher after not tinkering for 10 years and I also learned a lot (like TIG welding and the design of the Yamaha R1) The next video on this project will be the first outing to go to inspection!
