The Vorarlberg company TerraTec triggered a small revolution five years ago with the LS Grip air spiked wheel. It brings more safety to steep slopes and pushes the limits of use of modern single-axle vehicles to a previously unattainable level! But is the difference to the tried and tested metal spiked roller really that big? We got to the bottom of this question: When mulching on difficult terrain, we pitted two Ibex G2 P implement carriers with different wheels against each other. The result amazed even us! Technical progress has not spared alpine agriculture either: Modern motor mowers now take over the work on steep slopes that could previously only be cultivated with laborious manual work. In order to exploit the potential of these machines, the wheels also had to develop further, because they are the interface with the ground. This is exactly where the LS Grip from TerraTec comes in: a rubber tire with screwed-on metal tips that combines the advantages of both worlds: the slope suitability of conventional aluminum spiked rollers and the damping properties of pneumatic tires. The LS Grip makes the arduous work of mountain farmers on steep slopes easier and safer.
