The film was made entirely by volunteers and with a practically zero budget. The story tells about the 2nd rifle company of the 1st battalion of the 38th Infantry Regiment and their achievements in important defensive battles in December 1939. The defense position of Syskyjärvi played a decisive role when the advance of the 168th and 18th divisions of the Soviet Army had to be stopped in Laatoka Karelia in mid-December 1939.
