Hello, In this video I take you on a #high-altitude tour but without #glacier contact although it does require a certain level of skill and fitness. Today we're going to the Stubai Alps in Tyrol on the Wilden Freiger / Cima Libera (3418 m). For the ascent we chose the route from the Ridnauntal and via the Becherhaus and the Signalgipfel to the Wilden Freiger. Afterwards we spent a night in the #Becherhaus. For the descent we chose the route via the Freiger Scharte and the Roten Grat (3099 m) back to the Ridnauntal. The descent can be seen in a second part. The tour as we did it does not require any glacier equipment or special knowledge such as crevasse rescue etc. So if you want to climb a 3000m peak without a glacier, this tour / summit might be a good option for you. Nevertheless, the tour does require a high level of mountaineering skill and good stamina at this altitude. The starting point of the tour is the previously free car park of the mining museum in the Ridnauntal valley, just behind Ridnaun. The video of the worthwhile descent over the red ridge can be found here: • Wilde Freiger via Becherhaus Day 2... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the tour details individually: Parking lot at the mining museum - Aglsbodenalm: ⛰️Distance: 2.9km, altitude: 320m↑ 0m↓: Walking time: 60 to 75 minutes Aglsbodenalm - Grohmannhütte: ⛰️Distance: 2.9km, altitude: 530m↑ 0m↓: Walking time: 90 to 120 minutes Grohmannhütte - Teplizerhütte: ⛰️Distance: 1.2km, altitude: 330m↑ 0m↓: Walking time: 45 to 60 minutes Teplizerhütte - start of the Becherhaus trail (approx. 2840 m): ⛰️Distance: 3.5km, altitude: 290m↑ 40m↓: Walking time: 90 to 115 minutes Climb to the Becherhaus: ⛰️Distance: 1.0km, elevation gain: 350m↑ 0m↓: Travel time: 45 to 75 minutes Becherhaus – Wilder Freiger and back: ⛰️Distance: 2.5km, elevation gain: 300m↑ 300m↓: Walking time: 75 to 90 minutes Here are the total tour data: Distance: 14km, elevation gain: 2120m↑ 340m↓: Walking time: 6.75 to 9.00 hours Difficulties: Mining Museum car park – Aglsbodenalm: ????T2+ Aglsbodenalm – Grohmannhütte: ????T2+ Grohmannhütte – Teplizerhütte: ????T3 Teplizerhütte – start of the Becherhaus climb: ????T3 Climb to the Becherhaus: ????T4 Becherhaus – Wilder Freiger and back: ????T4 and I (UIAA) All information is provided without guarantee and no claim to completeness Now have fun watching Pfiats eich, your Dude --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:00 – Introductory words 01:22 – Ascent to Becherhaus 15:08 – Ascent to Wilder Freiger -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GPX and detailed description of the tour: https://www.outdooractive.com/de/rout... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is the packing list for a mountain hike with my current equipment (as of 01/2024) On the Wanderer • ????
