NR 01 - GENERAL PROVISIONS and OCCUPATIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT 1.5 Occupational Risk Management 1.5.4 Hazard Identification and Occupational Risk Assessment Process 1.5.4.1 The hazard identification and occupational risk assessment process must consider the provisions of the Regulatory Standards and other legal requirements for occupational health and safety. 1.5.4.2 Preliminary Hazard Survey 1.5.4.3 Hazard identification 1.5.4.4 Occupational risk assessment 1.5.4.4 Occupational risk assessment 1.5.4.4.1 The organization must assess the occupational risks related to the hazards identified in its establishment(s), in order to maintain information for the adoption of preventive measures. 1.5.4.4.2 For each risk, the level of occupational risk must be indicated, determined by combining the severity of possible injuries or health problems with the probability or chance of their occurrence. 1.5.4.4.2.1 The organization must select risk assessment tools and techniques that are appropriate to the risk or circumstance being assessed. 1.5.4.4.3 The gradation of the severity of injuries or health problems must take into account the magnitude of the consequence and the number of workers possibly affected. 1.5.4.4.3.1 The magnitude must take into account the consequences of the occurrence of expanded accidents. 1.5.4.4.4 The gradation of the probability of occurrence of injuries or health problems must take into account: The requirements established in Regulatory Standards; The prevention measures implemented; The demands of the work activity; and The comparison of the occupational exposure profile with reference values established in NR-09. 1.5.4.4.5 After the assessment, occupational risks must be classified, in accordance with subitem 1.5.4.4.2, in order to identify the need to adopt prevention measures and prepare an action plan. 1.5.4.4.6 The risk assessment must be an ongoing process and reviewed every two years or when the following situations occur: After implementation of prevention measures, to assess residual risks; After innovations and modifications in technologies, environments, processes, conditions, procedures and work organization that imply new risks or modify existing risks; When inadequacies, insufficiencies or ineffectiveness of prevention measures are identified; In the event of work-related accidents or illnesses; When there is a change in the applicable legal requirements. 1.5.4.4.6.1 In the case of organizations that have certifications in an OHS management system, the term may be up to 3 (three) years. So, does the PGR have an expiration date? No, it does not, however, if there have been no changes in activities, the Risk Assessment must be reviewed every 2 years. How do I prove the Risk Assessment Review? It will be necessary to provide evidence in some way, either through a report or some other form of record. What about the PCMSO? Does it have an Expiration Date? NR 7 - OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MEDICAL CONTROL PROGRAM - PCMSO 7.6.2 The physician responsible for the PCMSO must prepare an analytical report of the Program, annually, considering the date of the last report, containing, at least: the number of clinical examinations performed; the number and types of complementary examinations performed; statistics of abnormal results of complementary examinations, categorized by type of examination and by operational unit, sector or function; incidence and prevalence of work-related diseases, categorized by operational unit, sector or function; information on the number, type of events and diseases reported in the CAT, issued by the organization, referring to its employees; comparative analysis in relation to the previous report and discussion on the variations in the results. 7.1.1 This Regulatory Standard - NR establishes guidelines and requirements for the development of the Occupational Health Medical Control Program - PCMSO in organizations, with the objective of protecting and preserving the health of its employees in relation to occupational risks, according to the risk assessment of the organization's Risk Management Program - PGR. 7.5.1 The PCMSO must be prepared considering the occupational risks identified and classified by the PGR. Whenever the PGR is updated, the PCMSO must also be updated! So, does the PCMSO have an expiration date and need to be renewed? No, it does not, however, whenever there is an update of the risks in the PGR, the PCMSO must be updated!
