At the start of the second day of his eagerly awaited state visit to Germany, the new British King Charles III met with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) in Berlin on Thursday and also visited a weekly market with his wife Camilla. First, Scholz received the royal guest in the Chancellery for an exchange of information, then Charles drove on to the weekly market in Berlin-Schöneberg. There Charles met with Camilla and the current Governing Mayor of Berlin Franziska Giffey (SPD). During a joint tour of the stalls, the royal couple sought conversation with vendors and onlookers. Among other things, they gathered information at a honey stand and a cheese stand, where they also bought something. The highlight of the day's visit is to be a speech by Charles III in the Bundestag at noon. It is the first time that a monarch has spoken to the German parliament. Charles will then visit an arrival center for Ukrainian refugees at the former Tegel airport and then travel on to Brandenburg, where he will visit the Brodowin eco-village, among other things. Charles and Camilla arrived in Berlin on Wednesday and were received by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier with military honors in front of the Brandenburg Gate in front of hundreds of onlookers. There was also a state banquet on Wednesday evening in Steinmeier's official residence, Bellevue Palace. Charles and Steinmeier paid tribute to the German-British friendship and reaffirmed their countries' solidarity with the attacked Ukraine. #kingcharles #berlin #worldnewschannel Subscribe to the WELT YouTube Channel http://bit.ly/WeltVideoTVabo WELT DOKUS Channel / weltdoku WELT Podcast Channel / weltpodcast Short news on WELT Netzreporter Channel / dienetzreporter The WELT news livestream http://bit.ly/2fwuMPg The top news on WELT.de http://bit.ly/2rQQD9Q The media library on WELT.de http://bit.ly/2Iydxv8 WELT news channel on Instagram https://bit.ly/IGWELTTV WELT on Instagram http://bit.ly/2X1M7Hk On our own behalf: Due to the high volume of irrelevant and offensive posts, we are currently unable to accept any more comments.
