Cassava or manioc (Manihot esculenta) is propagated vegetatively by cuttings. The seed that will give us a good sowing must be chosen from vigorous and healthy plants, then a good stem with good maturity, diameter and a good number of buds must be selected. The stem is cut into cuttings in a transversal way, 20 to 30 cm long, containing between 5-8 nodes. The way of sowing the cutting in the ground can be horizontal, vertical or inclined, burying between 5-10 cm of the cutting in the ground, with the buds facing upwards. The way of sowing it is not so determining in the final production.
