Visit to the park railway at Auensee, in Leipzig Wahren on Easter Monday, April 17th, 2017. The former pioneer railway opens up the local recreation area around Auensee. This was created by gravel extraction during the construction of Leipzig Central Station. The small railway is 1.9 km long and has a track width of 381 mm. On Easter Monday, locomotive No. 1 operated the train. This is a battery-powered locomotive. It was built in 1995 in Halle an der Saale at DB AG using a field railway diesel locomotive Ns1b built in 1958. Unfortunately, the steam locomotive could not be fired up; it is currently waiting for a boiler repair.
