Romans in their own way, these sons of a furious god settled in the Iberian Peninsula, where they founded the most powerful kingdom of their time in the Christian West, the Kingdom of Toledo, with Rome in their memory and intention. Until ruin befell them in 711, largely due to their excessive fondness for the game of thrones. But not everything was loss and dissension, there was also continuity and recovery. The political and religious unity, the territorial unity of the peninsula, the legal equality and the cultural splendour forged by them over three centuries would be the nucleus of resistance, the seed of new kingdoms and the driving force of restoration. The Visigoths are the great protagonists of the transition from Antiquity to the Middle Ages. His was, from beginning to end, an adventure against all odds.
