Vinh Long Citadel was built in 1813 under the reign of King Gia Long. The person who directly commanded the construction of the citadel was the Governor of Vinh Thanh, Luu Phuoc Tuong. The citadel was built of earth in the Vauban style with a perimeter of 750 truong (3000m), surrounded by 4 rivers and canals: the North is Co Chien River, the South is Cau Lau Canal, the West is Cai Ca Canal, the East is Long Ho River. In 1867, the French occupied Vinh Long Citadel, and in 1877, they destroyed the citadel. The remaining vestige of Vinh Long Citadel is the ancient banyan tree at the Right Gate of the citadel. The location of the banyan tree and the restored Right Gate are now ranked as provincial relics. -------------------------------------- If you find the video interesting, don't forget to click LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and SHARE. ▶️ Channel address: https://www.youtube.com/c/TungTangKhắc... ▶️ For any information, please contact: [email protected].
