This historical document shows how the four-masted barque PEKING was examined at a shipyard in New York in January 2008. This film shows very clearly how much work lay ahead for the team from the Hamburg Maritim Foundation and the shipyard that was later commissioned to do the work. Fortunately, Peter Kaufner documented this phase in the life of the four-masted barque, so that the extent of the restoration work can be assessed. For those interested, there is also the PEKING calendar 2021. It is a collector's item with photos of the last restoration phase and the return to the Hansahafen in Hamburg. The calendar contains photos by Heiner Müller-Elsner, Peter Tamm, Stefan Behn, Thomas Koch, Anne-Merle Wulf and Dirk Paßehl. There is also an overview of calendar images with background information by Joachim Kaiser.
