Ole Lawaetz Olesen has found an efficient way to utilize the waste in his vegetable production. In vegetable production, there is always a part of the vegetables that is left on the field, e.g. due to damage because they are too small or because cover leaves are peeled off. In cabbage production, it can be as much as 35% that is left on the field and subsequently plowed down. When, like Ole, you feed the vegetable scraps to your pigs, and then subsequently get the nutrients back to the field via the manure from the pigs, the vegetable scraps are used more efficiently.
