TORRI DEL VAJOLET and PASSO SANTNER from Muncion - Rifugio Re Alberto I Catinaccio - Val di Fassa The climb to Passo Santner (2,734m) through the Valle del Vajolet and through the Gola del Gartl, alongside the famous Torri del Vajolet, is one of the 'Great classics' of hiking in the Catinaccio Group. The route, which passes through very varied scenery as it climbs, offers wonderful views initially towards the subgroups of Larsèc, the Catena della Roda di Vaèl (Cigolade and Mugoni), towards Cima Catinaccio and the Catinaccio d'Antermoia, and higher up towards the Torri del Vajolet, the Crode di Ciamin, the Crode di Re Laurino, etc.. in addition of course to the glimpses of the Dolomite groups that appear further away (Marmolada, Sella, Latemar,..). The itinerary, in the section that goes up from the Vajolet Refuge to the Re Alberto I Refuge, is partially equipped, has passages on rock with a fair amount of exposure and not always equipped, and is therefore recommended for expert hikers only (EE/EEA).
