This is an 8mm video of the ED42 running on the Abt system line between Yokokawa and Karuizawa on the Shinetsu Line of the Japanese National Railways around 1963. At that time, people were still more relaxed and would often let me ride on the locomotives while I was visiting the engine depot many times. I think you can see how intense the vibrations of the Abt system locomotives are.
