This week's Ciência é Tudo (Science is Everything) addresses the relationship between technology and sustainability. The use of renewable energy sources and the development of more modern and less polluting materials are some examples of technological applications aimed at preserving the planet. The program explains the types of renewable energy, which comes from naturally supplied resources, such as the sun, wind, rain and tides. Brazil is a reference in this energy model, also called clean energy, but it is not free from criticism. We will also learn about biorenewable fuel projects. They meet the challenge of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring the efficient use of natural resources, unlike oil, which is one of the most polluting, along with thermoelectric plants. We also present graphene, an atomic-sized material, stronger than steel, resistant, light and flexible, which promises to revolutionize technology. Graphene is expected to be used more specifically in mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones. And as part of the interview, we welcome Claudio Schneider, coordinator at the Mineral Technology Center (Cetem), of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI). The organization has been working for 42 years in the development of technologies for the sustainable use of mineral resources. Learn more: https://tvbrasil.ebc.com.br/ciencia-e...
