The tribune "Emperor Stefan Dušan Silni - the most powerful ruler of the Serbian Middle Ages" was held on Friday, February 21, in the "Youth Tribune" club of the Cultural Center of Novi Sad. The author and lecturer was prof. Dr. Boris Stojkovski. King and Emperor Stefan Uroš IV Dušan represents, without a doubt, one of the most important figures of Serbian medieval history. He was a great conqueror, and in his time, as it was said in tradition, the Serbian state broke out on three seas. He ruled as king from 1331 to 1346, and was then crowned emperor. He conquered a number of Byzantine territories. He was a legislator, a ruler who maintained ties with many rulers of the time. It is assumed that he was born around 1308 in Shkodër. His father was Serbian king Stefan Uroš III Dečanski, grandfather Stefan Uroš II Milutin, and his mother was Bulgarian princess Teodora Smilec, daughter of the king of Bulgaria.
