Few images reach us from Syria, a country close to civil war and closed to the international press. Manon Loizeau, a journalist, entered Syria clandestinely in the besieged city of Homs, which has become a martyr city. Bypassing military roadblocks, thanks to the complicity of members of the protest movement against the regime of President Bashar al Assad, she went to Homs. Over the months, this city, where the dead now number in the hundreds, has become the symbol, the center of the revolt. In an atmosphere of terror, Manon Loizeau collected testimonies from victims of torture. At the heart of banned demonstrations, witnessing the repression herself, she experienced, for a week, the daily life of deserters from the Syrian army who organize the resistance.
