A trip to Transnistria is a trip back in time, back to the terrible and sad Soviet times. If you check the world map, you won't find Transnistria on it, because the tiny territory wedged between Ukraine and Moldova still does not officially exist as a state, no one wants to recognize it. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, nothing has changed in Transnistria, time seems to have been preserved there. There are statues of Lenin and Stalin in cities and villages, Soviet symbols are still used there, Soviet rubles circulated for a very long time, which were replaced by unusual-looking plastic coins. Since the creation of the non-existent country, many Russian soldiers have been stationed there, whom the locals call "peacekeepers". Journalist Orijus Gasanov filmed a two-part documentary in Transnistria, this is the first show.
