Would you be a Shepherd for a day?🐄I went to Santo Stefano D'Aveto (Genoa) on the occasion of the Transhumance🐮a truly exciting event for those like me who come from the city🏘️. But what is Transhumance??? The movement of the herds 🐄from the summer mountain pastures to the pastures in the valley where the cows will then be put in the stables with the arrival of the first snow☃️❄️. With my friend Flavia we left from the center of Santo Stefano at 7 in the morning with the shuttle, made available by the organization, which transported us to Torrio, a small village near the Passo del Crociglia (PC). We then waited for the arrival of the cows🐮🐄 previously gathered by the shepherds in the early hours of the morning on Monte Crociglia at 1578 m. In Torrio, everyone was offered a delicious breakfast with products from local companies🧀🫕🥛The cows were then adorned with garlands for their entry into the village welcomed by a river of people! Songs, choirs, games for the little ones and obviously lots of good food!!! We had been staying since the night before at the Albergo Ristorante San Lorenzo where we had lunch eating and drinking to our heart's content🤣. Transhumance is a peasant tradition that Pietro Monteverde, owner of the homonymous farm, has been able to transform into a spectacular party open to all!! Santo Stefano D'Aveto, a splendid mountain village in the Ligurian Apennines, with its transhumance, truly amazed me and filled my heart with joy❤️ CHAPTERS: 00:00 Transhumance in Santo Stefano D'Aveto 00:57 Journey towards the Transhumance 01:44 Horses and Transhumance 03:37 Last stretch towards Santo Stefano 04:33 Albergo Ristorante San Lorenzo KOMOOT TRACK: https://www.komoot.com/it-IT/tour/194...
