At birth, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy that would prevent her from walking. However, there was something that the doctors did not take into account: the love, effort and dedication that made Miriam, thanks to the support of her family, take her first step. Her school years were hard due to her difference, but little by little she began to understand the importance of accepting herself, beginning to believe and changing her approach to life through a simple question: “Why?” That was the only way to achieve her goals, but, above all, to learn to be happy. Former Spanish swimming champion, singer and actress, Miriam never loses sight of the fact that true success consists of valuing the people we love, enjoying every second and knowing how to appreciate the greatness of the small things. Shortly after being born into a young and humble family, the doctors diagnosed that she would never be able to walk due to cerebral palsy caused by a lack of oxygen in the brain during birth. She was given up for adoption to a new family, becoming the youngest of seven siblings. Against all odds, thanks to the love and support of her family and of course her relentless determination, she managed to take her first step and hum her first songs. Everything has a purpose. At the age of twelve, Miriam was proclaimed national swimming champion, a title she held for most of her sporting career, which lasted until 2008. That same year she decided to bet on her passion, music, winning the second edition of a television talent show “Tú sí que vales”.
