Over the next few years, DB's InterCity trains will gradually be replaced. For this purpose, the railway has ordered a number of trains from Talgo. The first of these has now been delivered and taken to Braunschweig - to the RailAdventure train hotel. The train was led by the 183 500. Behind the ICE-L carriages was the 2190 311 registered in Italy - also a "Taurus". First, I positioned myself at the entrance to Langenselbold station, as I hoped that the train would be moved to the side so that the scheduled ICEs could overtake it. Due to a slight delay, this didn't work out - the ICE L rushed past me without stopping. Due to a lucky coincidence, I was able to overtake the train on the motorway. So I lay in wait again in Steinau, where I was able to immortalize it again on the memory card. The ICE L is built by the Spanish company Talgo and has the typical Talgo running gear: each carriage has only one set of loose wheels. In other words: • The wheels are not connected by a rigid shaft, but can rotate independently of each other. • The carriages are shorter, otherwise too much weight would be placed on the wheels. • Because the train has fewer wheels, it is also lighter overall. The fact that the railway calls the train an ICE is the subject of much discussion. This causes a lot of confusion for many, because the ICE L • is to be used on the IC lines according to DB • looks more like a locomotive-hauled IC • has a maximum speed of 230 km/h, which is a little faster than a conventional IC, but slower than an ICE. Once it has been approved for Germany, it will first be used on the Berlin-Amsterdam route (via Bad Bentheim, where there are currently still locomotive changes on the ICs). The ICE L will also serve the lines to Westerland (Sylt) and Oberstdorf. In addition to the ICE L, there are of course other trains to see, such as in Langenselbold: ???? 185 293 with freight train towards Hanau ???? 146 272 + 146 251 with RB 51 and later with RE 50 ???? 193 244 with trailers towards Fulda ???? 193 805 with RB 51 and later with RE 50 ???? 159 230 (BBL Logistik) with freight train towards Hanau ???? 1116 198 (ÖBB) with tank train towards Schlüchtern ???? 146 261 with RE 50 to Fulda ???? 186 359 with trailers towards Fulda ???? 193 864 with RE 50 to Frankfurt and in Steinau: ???? 211 074 Tfzf towards Hanau ???? 187 142 with tank train towards Schlüchtern ???? 193 739 with tank train towards Schlüchtern ????
