Khosrow II was the son of Hormizd IV (r. 579–590) and grandson of Khosrow I (r. 531–579). He was the last long-ruling king of the Sassanid Empire before the Muslim conquest of Persia, which began about five years after his execution. He lost his throne, then regained it with the help of the Byzantine emperor Maurice, and a decade later, seeking to restore the glory of the Achaemenids, he conquered the rich Byzantine provinces in the east. He spent much of his reign at war with the Byzantine Empire, fighting what he called usurpers such as the army commander Bahram Chobin and his uncle Vestham. Heraclius is considered the most mentioned, praised and commended Western emperor and figure in the Arab-Islamic heritage, and his victories over the Persians were immortalized in the Qur’an indirectly within the first verses of Surat Al-Rum, which was revealed according to Islamic tradition while the Prophet Muhammad was still in Mecca when Khosrow II was able to defeat the Byzantines, and heralded a crushing victory for the Byzantine Empire, which happened in 629. The interpreters of the Qur’an have expanded on explaining and clarifying it; Heraclius is also mentioned in both the Hadith and the biography of the Prophet. Outside of internal Islamic sources, there is no historical source indicating that Heraclius heard anything about Islam or the Prophet Muhammad, and perhaps his advisors and courtiers viewed the Islamic call as a type of new Judaism, during the battles of Syria ----- Our Facebook page / erfolg123 # Khosrow #Heraclius #Lines Featured videos Al-Hajeb Al-Mansur bin Abi Amir 2 Eliminates Ghalib Al-Nasiri, Al-Mushafi and the Slavs and establishes the Amirid state • Al-Hajeb Al-Mansur bin Abi Amir 2 The Battle of Ain Jalut The Fall of Baghdad The Crusades The Disintegration of the Islamic World into States from 900 to • The Battle of Ain Jalut The Fall of Baghdad The Crusades The...
