One dies so that the other survives: In the film Titanic, after the ship sinks, Jack helps his rose onto a floating wall panel while he stays in the water and dies. For years, fans have been discussing whether Jack wouldn't have fit on the flotsam and jetsam, and since February we've known the answer from director James Cameron himself: Yes, he would have! But would that really have improved his chances of survival? And wouldn't he have had much better options to save himself? We're clarifying once and for all whether Jack could have survived the disaster - based on real survival stories. Historian and Terra-X History editor Janine Funke is helping us. A big thank you goes to our history expert Janine Funke, who unfortunately couldn't have calmed her eight-year-old self with her historical knowledge. And also a big thank you to Lisa from @GigaTVMag for her film expertise. Check out the channel and send greetings from us. There you can also find out more about how meticulously James Cameron wanted to portray the history in the film: / @gigatvmag #titanic #reaction #leonardodicaprio /-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/ Sources, background and further information about this episode: Bill Wormstedt from the Titanic Historical Society and Malte Fiebing-Petersen from the Titanic Association advised us on all the little details about the survivors.
