#Lovecraft #1928 Translation: Sonia Quémener © Éditions Bragelonne / Sans-Détour, 2012 ------- The Dunwich Horror (or The Dunwich Abomination, depending on the translation) is a fascinating story. Lovecraft takes us to degenerate white populations (the formulas are clear from the first chapter), and the writer enjoys writing dialogues that match the intellectual height of the characters - at the risk of making the understanding of certain passages quite obscure, but all the charm is there, like the latent anxiety that grows. We will appreciate the "putting into practice" of the little chronology written a few months before (cf. #52, History of the Necronomicon). Of course, Lovecraft does not just evoke the story of the cursed book, but also stages it – and gives us a glimpse of its most beautiful pages, thanks to Armitage who is decidedly very good at spontaneous Latin translation over a slightly stinking shoulder… If The Dunwich Horror is seductive, it is above all for its investigation, inquiry and finale which is reminiscent of The Charles Dexter Ward Affair – Henry Armitage is a sort of double of Dr Willet (a scholar studying the darkest writings to finally decide to take action). 00:02:16 chapter 1 00:13:16 chapter 2 00:24:14 chapter 3 00:33:21 chapter 4 00:43:38 chapter 5 00:57:08 chapter 6 01:10:16 chapter 7 01:29:11 chapter 8 01:45:22 chapter 9 02:02:33 chapter 10 ------- Reading, Illustration and Music of Tindalos ------- Next video: Fungi of Yuggoth ------- To find the illustrations, music, and the whole universe of Tindalos https://www.tindaloslechien.com To find the stories in mp3 https://hearthis.at/tindalos To follow Tindalos on Facebook / tindalos.lechien.5 For a little helping hand by supporting Tindalos on Tipeee https://fr.tipeee.com/tindalos Want to treat yourself to an illustration of Tindalos? https://www.tindaloslechien.com/bouti... #Lovecraft #Dunwich
