As a girl in Iran, she would never have dreamed of making it as a comedian. Today, Negah Amiri reaches thousands of fans on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube with her funny and self-ironic videos. Negah tells “deep and clear” how she asserts herself as a woman in the comedy industry and why a walk in the forest changed her life. At the age of eleven, Negah Amiri fled Iran with her family to Germany. Once here, she put her new freedom to the test: parties, drugs and false friends were part of her everyday life for years. It was only when the German-Persian woman was at a low point in her life that she took her fate into her own hands again: she applied to be a TV presenter, unfortunately without success. But Negah was able to convince people with something else: her humor. She started posting funny videos online that suddenly went viral. The comedian now appears on stages and on TV and released her first book in June 2021: “What women think but don’t say”. Her next career move: her own comedy show "upDATE" in the ARD Mediathek.
