In addition, it is a T1/T2 model, that is, it can be installed either in the input standard or inside the QDC. Another thing, I don't know if you noticed, but the rail with the irrigation system controls was "thrown" inside the box. This apparently didn't cause any problems, but the rail is made to be fixed, so there was a lack of care there, right? My dear, cheap labor can end up being very expensive later, just a tip. Well, the first stage of the service was completed, they installed DPS according to the standard and gave the existing frame a touch-up, redoing the connections of the components. Now it was time to do the second stage of the service, which was to make the grounding system. The grounding used in the residence is of the TN-CS type, that is, the neutral cable has the function of neutral and ground and when it reaches the QDC, it is divided into separate busbars. We even have a great class here on the channel, I'll leave it as a suggestion for you to watch at the end. But let's see it in practice: One tip I give is to fill the inspection boxes with water to make it easier when driving the rods. And to drive the rods we use our famous Frank, an SDS pointer with a 26mm gun bit that makes our lives much easier. After that, we never had to drive the rods in by hand again, unless it was worth a fortune. Once the rods were driven in, it was time to run the bare copper cable, connecting them. With the cable in place, it was time to rebuild. Remember that it wasn't just the soil that they removed, there was also the grass... and grass loves water... Now is the moment of truth. Did the grounding that the boys did work out well? To clear up any doubts, just use our earth meter... (remember that since it's a TN grounding, it's not necessary to take this measurement, but we're stubborn and like to test, right?) Guys, this value of 84 ohms is very good. That's because, since 2015, after the revision of NBR 5419, the guideline has been that we should always look for the value as close to zero as possible. And after they connected this grounding to the ground bus of the QDC in the gourmet area, the resistance value dropped to 25 ohms. Remembering, guys, the ground busbar became our BEP, because from this busbar, in addition to all the grounding cables, it is equipotentialized with the neutral busbar. And speaking of QDC, my friend, it had protection from several different brands, practically a display of protections, because according to the client, expansions were made over time. The DR device, in addition to not working, was also broken, the first time we had seen this. This would not have been a problem, but after seeing the “service” that had been done there in the standard, we advised the client to readjust this panel. Checking all the connections, replacing the jumpers with busbars and adopting all the protections from the same brand, which then avoids many problems with poor contact on the busbar, and provides a more professional service. We chose to standardize everything with WEG protections because not only because of the alignment of the terminals, but also because they have the same shape and size, making the assembly much more attractive. What wasn't very nice was the space available to perform maintenance on the panel. The corridor there must have been only about 70cm wide. Reinaldão went in first, but in the end it was Brenão who had to squeeze into the alley to do the job. And this is how the client's panel looked after the intervention. Much better and certainly safer. All that was missing now was the circuit identification and warning labels.
